There is a steady drip of gallows humour throughout Pat Flynn’s works. 
His smoke series explore the relationship between nature and commodity. 
The imagery in the series moving between joyous inhalation and the threat of collapse. 

These works reflect on desire, where nature and the elements are drawn towards tokens from consumer society, the works exploit clichés and meaningless societal gestures. 

Starting out as a sculptor, he turned to 3D modelling as an extension of his multi-dimensional thinking, with this series using Fluid Dynamics to build the ephemeral movement of smoke.
