THE SECOND ACT is a young contemporary gallery with roots in the North of England. We deliver a programme that emphasises the inclusion of artists from the North and from working-class backgrounds to support the growth of a diverse ecosystem of British artists. We choose to work with artists who make contemporary art with challenging concepts, narratives, and research.

Screen printing is a tactile image-making process where ink is drawn through a fine mesh to reveal a design, layer by deliberate layer. Often reserved for images and designs made up of specific blocks and a limited number of colour. Balancing precision and imperfection, allowing each print to carry subtle variations while remaining part of a repeatable series - rooted in both craft and mass production.

Under ideal conditions, screen-prints are expected to preserve the vibrancy of each print for 50 to 100 years. While our inks are designed to resist fading, we recommend keeping prints out of prolonged direct sunlight to maintain colour and detail over time.

Yes, we do ship internationally. Shipping costs and delivery times vary by destination. Please note that orders may be subject to import fees, taxes, and other duties after postage; the purchaser is responsible for these regional charges.

Cancellation for print-on-demand is not available. 

Once a print-on-demand order is placed, it is automatically booked with our shipping partner and production, so changing or canceling an order is difficult.

Giclée is a fine art inkjet printing process known for producing exceptionally high-quality reproductions. Using ultra-fine resolution, it captures intricate detail from original artworks and photographs with remarkable accuracy.

Extensive research has gone into the materials and processes behind our giclée prints. Based on current scientific testing, our recommended papers and printing process are estimated to last between 100 and 200 years under optimal conditions. Our high-quality inks and perspex glazes offer strong resistance to sunlight, though we recommend avoiding prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the print's colour and detail over time. Lower-quality alternatives are far more susceptible to fading.

The artwork description will tell you whether it is framed. If the piece comes unframed, you can book a free consultation or contact us to frame the work bespoke to your taste. The framing process takes approximately 3 working weeks.

We offer a 30-day return policy for unused and unopened products. Please use the Contact Us page and take a pre-postage picture of the undamaged work before returning an item. For any other return queries, please get in touch, and we will respond as soon as possible.
